In the afternoon we decided to take a drive along the coast ...we travelled North and came to a place called Cruden Bay...lovely little village near the North Sea....off in the distance we could see a Castle Ruin after some investigative driving we found a parking spot off the highway and the sign showing us the way to Slains Castle oh! My did we have fun...check out the pictures ..the views were unbelievable and on the old road back to the car the flowers along the beat up road just ready to bloom...I want to go back

What a fun adventure. Drive and stop on a whim! The landscape has a rugged beauty about it, doesn't it? Jagged rocks along the shore. That castle seems so sad standing out there. I think you made it happy by stopping by, so you were treated to to the lovely flowers. What history in those walls.
ReplyDeleteHello sister...yes loved the rock and crannies all the birds, could also see holes along that long wall that ran for over a mile I wanted to stay there and close my eyes and dream on....forgot to sat that Bram Stoker stayed at this castle and that was where he got the idea to write Dracula ....ooooo!
DeleteHey we loved Cruden Bay too, you probably were on some of the same back roads that Muffy and I traveled! I just loved the North sea coast! from Maxine
ReplyDeleteWaou !! I love your pictures, but sincerely regret not to see your faces so often among those beautiful landscapes !!
ReplyDeleteI hope everything is going well in your trip.
I must tell you I had a little accident with my scooter, and only have 1 leg walking well for a few weeks. I hope I will be better since you arrive in order to have good time together... even if we don' t go out for dancing.
